Welcome to Romney Lane Homestead! We’re delighted you’re considering a stay with us. Please review our terms and conditions to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all our guests.
Introduction
In these terms and conditions:
- “You” or “your” refers to the guest making the booking and their party.
- “Our”, “us”, or “we” Romney Lane Homestead and related parties.
- “Property” or “accommodation” refers to Romey Lane Homestead, located in Kiwitea, Manawatu NZ
Bookings
Bookings at Romney Lane can be made through our website www.romneylane.co.nz or via email at [email protected]. If you have any questions regarding your bookings, please call us to discuss.
Our policies are:
- A 100% deposit is required to secure a booking.
- All charges must be settled before arrival.
Payment Policy
Full payment is required at least 28 days before arrival. If we do not receive payment, we reserve the right to cancel your booking.
Refunds via credit card will be processed to the original card used for the transaction.
Cancellation Terms and Charges
- Cancellations or change of dates before 28 days prior to check in, 100% of payment is refundable
- Cancellation within 28 to 14 days prior to check in, 50% of payment is refundable.
- Cancellation within 14 days prior to check in, NO refunds.
- Written notification is required for all cancellations.
Rates and Charges
- Rates are quoted in NZD and subject to change.
- A minimum 3-night stay is required during long weekends and public holidays like Easter, Christmas and New Year.
Compendium
A compendium (info booklet) with essential information about your stay will be provided upon arrival.
Check-in and Check-out
- Check-in: 2.00 pm
- Check-out: 11.00 am
- Early check-ins and late check-outs are subject to availability and may incur additional fees.
Events and Functions
For small events or gatherings, contact us to discuss your plans. Romney Lane accommodates up to 20 guests for events and up to 8 guests for overnight stays. No additional guests are allowed without prior approval. We do not permit hens,stags or 21sts.
Disclaimers
While we strive to ensure your comfort and do our utmost to address any issues within our power, please be aware that we are rurally located and are not responsible for power or water outages or changes to property furnishings. We will make every effort to resolve such issues promptly and to minimise any impact on your stay.
Child policy:
We welcome children of any age. For babies there is a port-a-cot available on request.
If a bed is to be used by a child, normal full rates will apply.
Pet policy:
As much as we are animal lovers here on the farm and adore furry friends, unfortunately our farm livestock & vaccination policies do not allow visiting dogs.
Force Majeure
No compensation is provided for changes or cancellations due to events beyond our control, such as natural disasters or government actions.
Commercial Use
For commercial purposes or extended stays, please contact us to discuss options.
No Tenancy
This booking does not create a residential tenancy agreement or rights under landlord/tenant laws.
Parking
Ample parking is available on the driveway, there is a more secure parking option in the homestead's garage on request. We also have an extra shed that can accommodate further vehicles if required.
Linen
Linen and towels are provided. Additional linen is available upon request.
WIFI and Internet
WIFI internet is available. Smart TVs are provided; use personal logins for streaming services.
Housekeeping and Environmental Care
Please be mindful of your environmental footprint during your stay.
Rubbish and Recycling
Use provided bins for rubbish and recycling before departure.
Breakages and Damages
We reserve the right to charge the lead guest for any damages caused through the course of a booking by any member of the booking party. This includes breakages, spillages, stains, damage to furniture or fixtures and fittings. Any accidental damages should be reported as soon as possible so we can replace and/or fix for the next guests.
Smoking Policy
No smoking or vaping are permitted on the premises.
Fireplace Rules
Use provided firewood and keep flammable items away from the fireplace. Please inform us if you require any extra wood or need assistance lighting the fire.
Sceptic Tank Rules
Use septic-safe products and report any issues promptly.
Fire and Emergency Evacuation
Follow the procedures outlined in your accommodation for fire and emergency situations.
Personal Belongings and Lost Property
Contact us if you leave something behind; we will assist in reuniting you with your items.
Farm Safety & Hazards
Romney Lane Homestead is located with a working farm; therefore, there are many hazards both natural and manmade such as large bodies of water, machinery, electrified fences, animals and uneven ground. You accept that you enter the property at your own risk. We take no responsibility for any injuries, accidents or loss of property occurring on our property during your stay.
You are welcome to wander down the farm laneway however please do not enter any paddocks with animals - farm animals can be unpredictable. We also ask you to check-in with us before you start your farm walk/bike to ensure we are not moving stock through laneways which may cause disruption to you & the farmer.
If you wish to enjoy a full farm experience with animals please book a farm tour with us.
A First Aid Kit is available in the main bathroom cupboard. If something should happen, please come and see us or call. A AED defibrillator is available at the Kiwitea school hall 2.5km away.
