Start things right:

Enjoy an energising freshly brewed coffee & nourishing breakfast from Romney Lanes country kitchen table or venture out to the verandah. 

Then hit the road to explore the picturesque countryside in a direction of your choice, right into the small country town of Feilding, left up towards the small rural villages of Kimbolton, Apiti & Tararua ranges. 

Wander through the Wilderness Garden behind the Homestead, and enjoy the birdlife above you.
Make your way to your desired destination for some exploration, then return to Romney Lane in the evening to enjoy a breathtaking sunset over the farmland or watch the Kereru & Tui’s dance above you in the trees. Maybe play a lawn game or two?
Unwind with a cold beer on the verandah, or a glass of wine by the fire-the perfect ending to a lovely day.

Farm walking tracks 
Breathe in the fresh air, take a gentle stroll out the back gate or follow the laneway through the farm. Walks can vary from a ten minute stroll to a 1.5 hour loop from one end of the farm and back. The terrain is easy walking, with a few rolling hills, watch out for farm animals and farmers at work along the way with some great views down towards Kapiti Island. 
You are also welcome to BYO bikes and explore the farm and surrounding area on two wheels also. 

Tennis or Pickleball
The homestead has a sheltered full size asphalt Tennis Court & pickleball set-up with a grassy surrounding area for spectating.
Take it retro & dip into our retro tennis ‘dressup’ box to add fun to your game!  
A jug of Pimms, umbrella and light refreshments always helps make sport more enjoyable! 

Lawn games
Amuse yourself and your guests with some laid back recreation, giant jenga or Kubb on the expansive lawns.

Netflix & Chill
A valid option in a relaxing weekend away is a spot of netflix and chill - Our snug has been especially curated with this in mind, enjoy the cosy couches to snuggle into, unlimited starlink Wifi, and 55” smart TV.  This room has two double wooden doors & heavy velvet curtains so you can close yourself off from the world.

Star gazing
Experience the difference of a country night sky, wrap up warm in one of our woollen blankets or hot water bottles and take a hot chocolate outdoors to enjoy watching the dazzling light of millions of stars on a clear night. 

Egg Collecting 
Our chickens have plenty of space to roam and  have their own retro style caravan as their home.  Try your luck at egg collecting, bring them back to the homestead to cook & experience the amazing taste of a free range, pasture feed farm fresh eggs!
