OPTION ONE:  Farm Experience Tour 
 
Duration: 1.5 hours

Your Tour begins with a warm welcome at either Romney Lane Homestead or our Farm Woolshed, where you'll be introduced to the team and the farm’s history. 
Farm Experience Tour Highlights: 

• Guided Tour: Led by farm owners, Ian and/or Steph Strahan, journey through the farm’s scenic laneways, either self-driving or in a hosted vehicle (depending on group size). 
• Behind-the-Scenes Farming: Discover the daily operations of the farm, with fascinating insights into New Zealand farming. You’ll get to ‘meet the livestock’ and learn some fun farming facts along the way. 
• Picturesque Landscapes: Soak in stunning views of the farm’s natural surroundings. Enjoy a refreshing hot drink or homemade lemonade by one of the farm’s serene waterways or native bush areas. 
• Environmental Stewardship: Hear about the vital role New Zealand farms play in protecting the environment, with a focus on soil conservation and freshwater quality. Engage in discussions on sustainable farming practices and the challenges New Zealand farmers face today. 

 
OPTION TWO: Technical Farm Tour

An immersive experience in high-performance, sustainable farming. 
 
Your visit begins with a warm welcome at either Romney Lane Homestead or our Farm Woolshed, where you'll be introduced to the team and the farm’s history. 
 
Technical Farm Tour Overview:  

• Following the introduction, farm owner and operator Ian Strahan will personally guide you on a comprehensive tour of the property.  
• On this tour, you’ll gain insight into how Ian runs a high-performance, sustainable operation, carefully managing the environmental footprint while prioritizing soil conservation and freshwater quality. 
• The tour covers all Farm Experience Tour Highlights, plus you’ll gain insight into how Ian runs a high-performance, sustainable operation, carefully managing the environmental footprint while prioritizing soil conservation and freshwater quality. 

Optional Add-Ons for either tour (available on request and when available): 

• Dog Mustering Demonstration – Watch skilled sheepdogs in action, showcasing traditional mustering techniques. 
• Sheep Shearing Demonstration – Get a firsthand look at the art of shearing and how it's done by the experts. 
• Plant a Native Tree – Make a lasting impact by planting a native tree, contributing to the farm’s conservation efforts.
